Mobile Oil Skimming Systems
For 60 years, our oil skimmers and skimming systems, featuring the free-floating oil collection tube have been considered the most efficient, trouble-free oil removal solutions for a wide variety of industries. In some applications, it is beneficial to our customers to be able to move the oil skimmer from one location to another.
These systems are used on applications where:
- There is a need to skim oil or grease from more than one sump or pit, and the required frequency or amount of oil to remove does not justify the purchase of multiple units
- It is necessary to be able to move the skimming system away from the skimming area to allow access for cleaning, service, or other equipment.
There are 3 varieties of Mobile Skimming Systems:
Cart Mounted Oil Removal Systems
Cart Mounted Oil Removal Systems are used to easily move the skimming system from one sump, pit, tank, or pond to another. Cart Mounts are available for applications from small to large; moving a Model 1H from one parts washer to the next, or moving an Extended Reach ORTS with 1,000 gallon tank from one pond to another.
Cart Mounted Oil Removal Systems feature:
- Oil Skimmer with Safety Cover
- Frame Mount on Cart with Handle
- Sludge Pan (Model 6V or 7V)
- Oil/Water Decanter
- Cover for Sludge Pan and Decanter
- Basic Control Panel (Skimmer Motor ON/OFF)
Available with the following options:
- Skimmer Heat (120V or 240V Heat Rod)
- Sludge Pan Heat (120V or 240V Heat Pad)
- Decanter Heat (120V or 240V Heat Rod)
- *Epoxy Coating (Skimmer only or entire system)
- Ceramic Lined Tube Guards
- *Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) to control skimmer speed
- Explosion Proof heat, motor and controller
- Control panel additions (Timer, Heat Control, Level Switches, etc.)
*Model 7V comes standard with Epoxy coating and Variable Frequency Drive.

- Swing the boom into place.
- Drop in the tube.

Situation: Large manufacturing plants and mills generally have many pits or basins where waste oil accumulates.
Oil Skimmers’ versatile mobile tank-mounted oil skimmer can be positioned at site after site for easy and efficient waste oil recovery.
Situation: Oil producers with remote holding ponds may have valuable crude oil floating on the surface of the ponds.
The Oil Skimmers mobile system equipped with an optional electrical generator package may be taken to the remote site and positioned for continual removal of the crude oil before environmental factors turn this valuable crude into a tar-like substance or sludge.
Situation: Large ponds and ditches are subject to wind or current changes that may carry floating oils outside the reach of stationary oil skimmers.
The Oil Skimmers mobile system enables the waste oil to be recovered at any spot where the oil may be carried before the waste oil can be discharged into nearby lakes, streams or wastewater treatment facilities.
A wind-up reel on the back of the trailer permits the unit to be plugged in if power is available at the site or an optional generator pack can be provided. An indicator light atop the tank signals when the tank is full and an automatic shut-off switch has stopped the operation of the skimmer.
