generated during the cooking process. With the skimming system in place, the company is able to recover
10,000 pounds of waste oil weekly and then sell the skimmed oil to a reclaimer, earning anywhere
from $2,500 to $5,000 in additional revenue per month.
Oil and gas success stories
Three different oil and gas companies, located in Texas, West Virginia and Ohio – all in the wastewater
disposal business – noticed the hydraulic fracturing wastewater coming to their facilities often contained
trace oil. To remove and recover the oil, the companies each installed tube-type oil skimmers. Within three
months of installation, each noted being able to sell the recovered oil for profit, delivering anywhere from
$3,000 to $18,000 per month in added revenue.
